DIGITAL SOLUTIONS – ORANGE

Taking back control of a complex
real estate portfolio.

Orange Group, one of Europe’s leading telecommunications operators, partnered with AREMIS to consolidate 30+ legacy applications into a unified IWMS platform — governing 85,000 sites, 6 million m² and €300M of annual Capex across multiple geographies.

THE CHALLENGE

A fragmented ecosystem holding back strategic performance

Orange Group, one of Europe’s leading telecommunications operators, manages a diversified real estate ecosystem across multiple geographies — corporate offices, technical infrastructure, and operational facilities supporting 110,000 employees.

Over years of growth and acquisitions, the organisation accumulated more than 30 legacy applications, fragmenting governance and limiting the Group’s ability to optimise occupancy, manage transformation programmes, and reconcile financial and real estate perspectives.

Strategic simulations and transformation scenarios were still partially managed through disconnected Excel-based processes, limiting visibility, scalability and governance consistency at Group level. The Group needed a unified platform capable of steering real estate performance, workplace evolution and long-term transformation at scale.

PROJECT OBJECTIVE

Transform fragmented real estate operations into a unified strategic decision platform capable of steering portfolio perfo

Rationalise 30+ legacy applications into one platform

Centralise portfolio governance and occupancy optimisation

Manage large-scale transformation programmes

Integrate environmental performance into decisions

Replace Excel-based scenario modelling

APPROACH

An integrated, continuously evolving IWMS platform built for the long term.

AREMIS partnered with Orange to design and continuously evolve ISBA — a large-scale Archibus-based IWMS platform consolidating the global real estate ecosystem into a unified operational and governance environment. Working in Agile/Scrum methodology, AREMIS evolved from technical integrator to long-term strategic transformation partner..

01

Portfolio Governance

Unified data layer across all sites. Single source of truth connected to HR and finance systems.

02

Workplace Management

200,000 workstations connected. Occupancy tracking enabling data-driven space rationalisation.

03

Maintenance Operations

Coordinated facility management across the global portfolio aligned with energy performance goals.

04

Project Governance

End-to-end tracking of 1,000 real estate projects and €300M annual Capex across the Group.

05

Employee Services

Integrated service delivery for 110,000 employees — workspace booking, maintenance, facility services.

06

Business Transformation

Strategic advisory alongside platform evolution — making AREMIS a true transformation partner.

DELIVERY

From operational management to predictive governance.

Building on the ISBA foundation, AREMIS supports Orange in the OPI programme (“Outil de Pilotage Immobilier”) — a strategic initiative designed to move beyond operational management toward predictive portfolio governance. The programme represents a sustained evolution of the partnership — from technical implementation to strategic co-construction of Orange’s real estate decision-making capability.

1

FOUNDATION – ISBA PLATFORM BUILD

AREMIS designed and deployed ISBA, a large-scale Archibus-based IWMS platform consolidating Orange’s global real estate ecosystem. Working in Agile/Scrum methodology, the platform progressively replaced 30+ legacy applications with a single source of truth — connected to HR and finance systems and covering 85,000 sites across multiple geographies.

2

SCALE – OPERATIONAL DEPLOYMENT

With ISBA operational, AREMIS progressively extended the platform across all six capability areas — portfolio governance, workplace management, maintenance operations, project governance, employee services and business transformation. 200,000 workstations were connected, 1,000 real estate projects placed under governance and €300M of annual Capex brought under unified control.

3

TRANSFORM – PREDICTIVE GOVERNANCE VIA OPI

The OPI programme moved Orange from operational management to predictive portfolio governance — replacing disconnected Excel-based scenario modelling with governed, auditable decision tooling at Group scale. Scenario simulation, financial modelling and transformation planning capabilities were embedded into the platform, enabling Orange to anticipate portfolio evolutions and steer performance with confidence.

RESULTS

Millions in savings. A governance transformed.

Beyond operational consolidation, Orange strengthened portfolio governance and strategic decision-making while generating significant financial and operational savings across the Group.

01

PLATFORM CONSOLIDATION

More than 30 legacy applications consolidated into a single real estate governance platform — one unified source of truth across all geographies.

02

FINANCIAL SAVINGS

Millions of euros in savings through space rationalisation, rent and operating cost optimisation, strategic asset disposals and energy reduction.

03

PREDICTIVE GOVERNANCE

Scenario simulation, financial modelling and Group-scale transformation planning — replacing disconnected spreadsheet-based processes entirely.

04

INCENTIVE ALIGNMENT

Mechanisms introduced to encourage business units to optimise the m² they occupy — embedding space efficiency into financial accountability.
