Tuc Rail
TUC RAIL is a Belgian engineering company specialising in railway infrastructure and technology. It has been in business for more than 25 years.
In 2018, TUC RAIL adopted a new organisational structure. Initially, project teams were formed and brought together according to an organisational matrix, which involved huge changes.
After this organisational change, we started working on the management of our employees, including the working environment.
Space optimisation
The Tuc Rail teams realised that the consequence of working with project teams was also to ensure cross-fertilisation between the different teams.
So they needed to create opportunities to work, on the one hand, but also to meet formally and informally, on the other. So it was time to create a pleasant, flexible and stimulating working environment.
Meeting needs as effectively as possible
Together with the customer, we have created a flexible and diverse working environment that allows and encourages employees to move from a "concentration workplace" to a "meeting place".
Workshops with the ambassadors helped to identify the specific needs within each department.
The covid period reinforced this further: the impact of working from home and the introduction of hybrid meetings were additional parameters that gained importance throughout the project.
Arrangements, such as the number of workstations and the types of meeting rooms, had to be reviewed along the way.
New collaborative and dynamic spaces
The opportunity was taken to give the building a complete facelift:
- Improved air conditioning,
- Installation of the necessary acoustic barriers;
- Reviewing all the cabling and connections.
- New ergonomic furniture, offering seating alternatives, with all workstations adjustable in height;
- Plants for the well-being of occupants
- Appropriate IT support, including intelligent screens, room reservation, etc.
- General LED lighting
